‘Indigo’ is one of the finest alt.country/alt.folk albums that I've heard in a good while and I need to keep reminding myself that this isn't straight out of the heart of Austin.
The opening track ‘Wonderland’ sets a highwater mark for the rest of the album, ‘In America’ comes close to swamping the flood gates.
Blackheart are starting to make waves on both sides of the Atlantic. You can hear why.”
FATEA MAGAZINE
“There’s no difficulty in recognising the emotions bound up in each song. These are personal stories, prayers, encounters and experiences revealed by lovingly crafted lyrics in piercingly sharp observations.
Chrissy's vocals slide from soft breathy delicacy, through joyous harmony and precise control, while Richard's guitar talent is imaginative and inspired; and their harmonies are just luscious.
Their debut album, Indigo showcased the skill, depth and range that Blackheart entwine into their songs. It also reflects the influences and journeys that create their unique sound. Without doubt their new album ‘Invisible’ will be an equal blend of perceptive personal reflections on people, places, memories and futures. Blackheart are going places, no question, no doubt.”
FOLKWORDS
Twice Bittens first CD “Now is the Time (for Whiskey)” is an example of blending country style with a Tasmanian/ Australian flavour. The cd features ten originals, a and four arrangements that showcase the talent of this duo.
Most remarkable of the interpretations is the treatment of 'Sin City', a Gram Parsons/Chris Hillman song from the Flying Burrito Brothers era. A stunning song when recorded by the Burrito's, it takes on a new lease of life and is a must listen,
Tallulah Rendall's first album, Libellus, was released by Arelmusic on 4 February 2011 and is distributed by MGM.
Libellus – a small book of poetry that comes to life – was provoked by the Iris Murdoch novel 'The Sea'. Each song on the album is accompanied by its own painting from artist Beshlie McKelvie.
‘Libellus’ is a soulful, mellifluous and downright beautiful affair which led to the Evening Standard calling her a ‘top up and coming artist’ and Contact Music branding the album ‘sublime, fragile, soulful and heart-piercing in its intensity’.
A passionate performer, Tallulah weaves her enchanting vocals around these songs with a rock'n'roll elegance not usually associated with today's female artists.

Prompted by an idea from a BBC Radio 2 producer to consider reinventing a modern day Blackheart version of a traditional Christmas carol, we decided to rewrite Christina Rosetti and Gustav Holst’s beautiful ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’. Retaining the original words of the first verse, the music was given an adventurous uplift in speed, instrumentation and production and the remaining three verses totally rewritten to ask questions about homelessness, loneliness and social problems of today.
‘In the Bleak Midwinter’ reached No.1 in the NCM Euro Chart.
